Villa Kunterbunt, a holiday camp house over 120 years old, is located on Schwanderberg, between the main Glarus valley (Glarus canton, Switzerland) and the Sernft valley, at exactly 1111 m above sea level. The villa is situated in the heart of the Freiberg Kärpf nature reserve, offering a magnificent panoramic view over half of Glaris and directly into the Glarus Alps. The house is simply furnished yet full of charm – that's Villa Kunterbunt! The rooms feature practical furnishings, with pillows, linens, and wool blankets provided; however, sleeping bags are mandatory. The spacious kitchen includes a large gas stove with an oven, a big refrigerator, and a walk-in pantry. The sanitary facilities are modern, functional, and spread over two floors. The outdoor area includes a playground with a fire pit. In the basement, there is a table tennis table, and the lovely attic offers a total of three common rooms. Villa Kunterbunt is suitable for youth or class camps, as well as for family celebrations or work weeks. The house is also a popular starting point for small or larger hikes and mountain tours. Despite its location, public transport access is available (500 m from the house), and with the guest card (GlarnerlandPass.swiss), public transportation is free to use throughout the canton! Access by car is possible for our tenants with the appropriate permit. The house is centrally heated with gas and is handed over warm.
Days without an entry are considered free. Only the enquiry to the host is binding.
Arriving by car: The road to the house requires a driving permit. Two permits are issued for two cars. These allow the use of the road and parking in front of the house. Arriving by public transport: Take the train to Schwanden station. Then walk (approximately 90 minutes) or take bus 544 to the observation tower.
