About the house

Welcome to the Art and Nature Friends House Brünig (Switzerland, Canton of Bern), a unique retreat surrounded by forest, mountains, and community. The house is idyllically located at the edge of the forest just below the Brünig Pass at around 960 m above sea level and is easily accessible by public transport or car. From the very first moment, the natural surroundings create an authentic camp atmosphere. With 58 beds in 16 rooms, the house is ideal for school classes, clubs, sports groups, and family camps. Room options range from small rooms to multi-bed and attic spaces. Several common rooms invite you to enjoy game or movie nights, while the spacious self-catering kitchen is perfect for cooking together. Meals can also be arranged on request. A special highlight is the “witch’s house,” a creative and event space with a stage – ideal for workshops, rehearsals, or celebrations. Additional facilities include a recording studio, wood workshop, web design studio, photo and film studio, pottery workshop, and a growing permaculture garden. Outside, you’ll find a fire pit, play areas, and plenty of space to relax in nature. Hiking trails start directly at the house, and mountain bike routes lead through the surrounding valleys and hills. In winter, the Hasliberg ski area is just minutes away, offering skiing, snowboarding, sledging, as well as snowshoeing and winter hiking. Mid-season rates apply during school holidays.
