The Bergheim family and group accommodation is located above Matt (Canton Glarus, Eastern Switzerland) on the sunny Weissenberge terrace in Glarus. On the 2 km long forest nature trail, you can get to know around 40 species of trees and shrubs. The mountain landscape between Vorderrheinthal, Sernftal and Lake Walen is unique in the world because the mountain formation processes are particularly visible there. It is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under ‘Sardona Tectonic Arena’. The valley station of the Elm - Empächli ski area is approx. 10 minutes by car from the Matt valley station.

From Zurich or Chur along the A3 motorway to the A44 exit. Then follow the main road through Glarnerland (Näfels, Glarus) to Schwanden. Turn off into the Sernftal valley towards Elm as far as Matt. Public transport: From Zurich or Chur by train direction Ziegelbrücke. At Ziegelbrücke station change to the regional train to Schwanden. At Schwanden station change to the bus to Matt. Then take the cable car up 400 metres to the sunny terrace of the Elm holiday region in three and a half minutes.
