Bärghüs Metjen – Your group lodge in Eischoll (Valais, Switzerland) Built in 1971/72 specifically for school and holiday camps, Bärghüs Metjen offers comfortable accommodation for up to 55 guests, with plenty of space for leisure and community activities. The house is ideal for both summer and winter camps and is located only about 200 metres from the chairlift – perfect for hiking, winter sports, and unforgettable experiences in the Valais Alps. The accommodation includes two twin rooms with private bathrooms and showers, plus ten spacious five-bed rooms, all equipped with running water and individual heating. A large dining hall provides space for shared meals, while the recreation and theory room can be used for games, lessons, or group activities. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a sick room, a separate leader’s bathroom with shower, a drying room, and an office corner with Internet access. Eischoll lies on a sunny plateau in the heart of the Augstbord region and offers breathtaking views of the majestic Bietschhorn. This charming village of about 440 inhabitants delights visitors with its authentic Valais character, peaceful atmosphere, and closeness to nature. In summer, numerous hiking and theme trails – such as the Wolf Trail or Knight’s Path – invite you to explore. In winter, Eischoll transforms into a small, family-friendly ski area with slopes leading up to the Eischollalp at 2,200 metres above sea level.

Eischoll is easily accessible both by public transport and by car. To reach Eischoll, take the train to Raron and then the cable car, which brings you directly to the village. Alternatively, Eischoll can also be reached by car via Visp and Turtmann, allowing for a direct arrival.
