The Gîte Bon Abri is an idyllic alpine hut in beautiful nature near Champex-Lac (Valais, Switzerland) at 1500 m. You will find plenty of snow during winter. It is located directly on hiking trails of the Mont Blanc Massive e.g. to Val d'Arpette and Bovine. The Bon Abri is ideal for groups, ski camps & families with small children. It is located 1.2 km below Champex-Lac and 12 km from Martigny, which has a train station on the Geneva Airport - Simplon trail. Self-catering is available for groups who reserve the whole house. The beautiful alpine ski resort La Breya also has 7 km of sledge trails. The village even has a separate lift for children. La Breya is located 600 m away from us and lies on the 15 km cross-country ski trail, which is maintained every day (classic & skating style). It passes directly in front of our windows. There are many natural freeride slopes. Costs for skiing are very moderate thanks to the pass Saint-Bernard, which covers many other activities too. Other nearby ski resorts are: La Fouly, Vichères-Liddes, Bourg-St-Pierre (included in pass Saint-Bernard) and Verbier (4 Vallées). The Bon Abri is a possible stop on the Haute Route for ski tours. There are many snowshoe trails in untouched winter landscapes. The white powder snow invites everybody to build an igloo or snowmen. In winter, one can ice skate, play ice hockey or do cross-country skiing on the frozen lake. The ice pyramid in the village gives the possibility to try ice climbing.

Bon Abri is located on the first small access road (300 m), which turns left after the town exit sign (direction Martigny). The bus stop is called Champex-d'en-Haut (300m) or Télésiège (La Breya lift) (800m). Champex-Lac can be reached directly from Martigny (12 km), which is directly on the Simplon train line, as is Geneva airport (159 km).
